AGEIS is a laboratory specialized in evaluations, and a centre of
expertises publishing information about technologies helping the
elderly, handicapped people and people losing their autonomy.
AGEIS’s idea is to favour the availability of technologies to improve
communication, security, and comfort of old or handicapped people and
people losing their autonomy. Our team intervenes in domains concerning
the main actors of the sector (old people’s home, CLIC, hospital
structures and nurse care at home, gerontological networks and
insurance companies etc.) thanks to our advice, training, information
network and coordinated experiments. We help them to make the right
choice concerning the technologies available on the market which fit
best their needs and for the best price, taking into consideration the
actual developments in research centres.
AGEIS’s ambition is to become the main and privileged interlocutor
concerning the evaluations and choice of technologies for old and
handicapped people.
To improve care, MEDIALIS has developed AGEIS online, the first web
site which allows people to choose supporting technologies perfectly
adapted to the specific needs of someone dependent.
We established partnerships with public and private institutions
specialized in medical and health research and/or in the health centre
sector :
- CNRS (TIMC laboratory- medical engineering laboratory) National Scientific Research Centre based in Grenoble/France)
- INSERM (National health institute of medical research)
- SFGG (French Society for Geriatrics and Gerontology) and the SFTAG
(French Society for Assistive Technology and Gerontechnology), which is
likely to become the French chapter of the ISG (International Society
for Gerontechnology)
- The APHP (Public Assistance-Hospitals of Paris) particularly the Charles Foix and the Kremlin Bicêtre Hospitals
- The University of Orsay-Paris XI
- AgeVillage, the main French web site dedicated to information and
advice for the caring environment of old and handicapped people.
Moreover, we benefit from a financial support of the Ministry of
Research (since June 2006) and we signed an agreement with the “APHP”
(Public Assistance-Hospitals of Paris) to rapidly generalize our
evaluations of innovative technologies.
The research team of our
laboratory is developing several additional approaches:
- AGEIS online - the web site which is the vector of publishing the research
results of our laboratory and which also offers the possibility to find
technologies by looking for the end use. (www.ageisonline.com)
- AGEIS training - one-day-long trainings for professionals taking care of the
elderly and of handicapped people.
- AGEIS expositions - the creation of technology expositions in the
context of manifestations and colloquiums for professionals of the
medical and social sector.
- AGEIS expertise - assistance in project ownership for health
institutions getting equipped with technologies (Deployment of home
automation in buildings or specialized services, Alzheimer Hospitals,
Computing ateliers for people concerned by Parkinson)
- AGEIS accessibility - expertise concerning the accessibility of public
buildings, streets and web sites, in the framework of the law of
February 11th, 2005 (for equal rights and chances of disabled people)
